Moulding Tools from China. Long Delivery Time. Reasonable Quality. Good Price

For many purchasers, "Made in China" is synonymous to low prices in exchange for inferior quality and often very long delivery times.

Nevertheless, insofar as injection moulding tools for plastic production are concerned, the Chinese part of the market has undergone a marked improvement in recent years. Delivery times are still long (primarily because of the transport). On the other hand, both price and quality have come closer, to some extent, to standards in Europe.

The conclusion therefore is that choosing a Chinese moulding tool could pay off in many cases if Time to Market is not a crucial factor and if the quality requirements and the part's complexity are average (or lower).

Dismantled, Inspected and Primed

If you opt for a Chinese-made moulding tool through HN Group's agency, you can be certain that you will get it from a producer we vouch for with all of our professional competence.

We also guarantee that before it is installed and given a trial run, the tool will be thoroughly primed at HN Group.

Such priming is carried out at our in-house tool department and comprises:

  • dismantling the tool for full cleaning
  • coating all moving wearing parts with PVD, wherever considered necessary
  • visual inspection and measuring of critical components
  • installation of mains connection, switches and fittings
  • functional testing prior to trial moulding.

After the tool has been primed, we fit it to one of our moulding machines and run a test through systematic fine-tuning using the correct type of plastic. And first when the result of test has been approved by both the client and our own quality team, the tool is released to the client.

What Can You Expect?

The quality of Chinese-made tools has witnessed a marked improvement in recent years. The tools have a reasonable life span and, as a rule, are delivered to specifications and tolerances, in particular, when it is a matter of uncomplicated plastic parts.

However, there is no doubt that plastic parts produced with a Danish-made moulding tool will normally have a visibly more refined finish and degree of detail.

You are always welcome to consult our experts if you would like to know more about the advantages and disadvantages of opting for a moulding tool from China for the production of a specific part in plastic.
