HN Group A/S takes responsibility and trains apprentices

"It is important for us to connect with what it is that inspires young people to choose a specific programme", says production director Steen Nielsen.

HN Group A/S has actively participated in the training of apprentices over a number of years, and many of them go on to get jobs at the company following completion  of their apprenticeship. HN Group A/S primarily takes on apprentices within plastics engineering and tool engineering programmes.

"It is important for us to connect with what it is that inspires young people to choose a specific programme, and what expectations they have for the individual company and the industry at large", says production direction Steen Nielsen.

HN Group A/S currently has 77 employees, five of whom are apprentices in training, and HN Group A/S is working to increase this number – partly in order to create a good environment in the company around training and education, and partly in order to actively contribute towards ensuring that the local workforce remains well-trained and highly skilled.

"In connection with recruitment, we prefer for our incoming apprentices to have worked as interns for shorter or longer periods and/or to have worked after school at our company as this results in a better understanding of the work area and what is expected. This in turn leads to a better alignment of expectations and a higher success rate for the training programme", Steen Nielsen continues.
